Getting started

How long does it take to get live?
Most single-location restaurants are live within 7 days. Multi-location groups typically take 2–4 weeks across the rollout.
What do I need to bring to onboarding?
Your menu (we will help structure it), photos if you have them, a business bank account for payouts via Stripe, and the existing domain if you want to keep it.
Do I need a developer?
No. Calode is run from a dashboard you can use on your phone. The onboarding team handles the technical setup — domain setup, Stripe, POS connection, the lot.
Does Calode replace my current website?
In most cases, yes. We rebuild it on Calode during onboarding and point your existing domain at the new site. No downtime.

Pricing and billing

Is there a per-order commission?
No. The monthly fee is the whole software bill. There is no marketplace cut and no per-order surcharge.
What about card processing?
Calode uses Stripe for payments. You pay Stripe's normal per-transaction rate — Calode does not add a commission on top.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Month-to-month, no long-term contract. Your customer list exports as a CSV — it stays yours.
Can I upgrade or downgrade?
Yes. Move between plans whenever it makes sense. The change takes effect on the next billing cycle.
Are there setup fees?
No setup fees. Onboarding is included in the plan.

Features

Does the AI receptionist sound like a robot?
No. It answers in a natural voice. You pick the voice and the greeting during onboarding. We don't recommend trying to pass it off as a human — some regions legally require AI callers to disclose, and a short up-front line keeps you compliant. Most callers find it easier than a phone tree either way.
Do customers need to download an app for loyalty?
No. They sign up at checkout with their phone number. Their points and history travel with them across the website, QR menu, counter orders, and phone orders.
Can guests order from the table without an app?
Yes. They scan the QR code with their phone camera and the menu opens in their browser. No App Store, no friction.
Can I run a delivery zone with my own drivers?
Yes. Draw zones on a map, set per-zone fees, run your own drivers from the dispatch view — or arrange a third-party courier service in your region for overflow. We confirm courier options on the demo.
Does it support reservations?
Yes. Tables, parties, areas, statuses. Email confirmation at booking; SMS reminders if you wire up a Twilio account (billed by Twilio at carrier rate). No per-cover fee.

Setup, POS, and switching

Does Calode work with my POS?
Calode includes a built-in cloud POS (POS Cloud) that many restaurants use as their only counter system. If you already have a POS you want to keep, tell us on the demo call and we will confirm fit before you commit.
What if I do not have a POS yet?
POS Cloud is built in — a new restaurant can open on Calode with one system covering the website, online ordering, QR menus, and the counter. You can switch to a specialised POS later if you grow into one.
Can I switch from another ordering platform?
Yes. Most owners run the old platform and Calode side by side for a few weeks during transition, then redirect their existing ordering link to the Calode site.
How is support handled?
One support number, real humans, 7 days a week. On the Scale plan you also get a named account manager who knows your operation.
What about my customer data?
Yours. Every name, number, order. Exportable to CSV any time. If you ever leave Calode, the list goes with you.
