Calode
Our story

We built Calode for the owner who is also the cook.

The one running the floor, answering the phone, and reading reports at midnight. The one paying 30% to a delivery app to reach a customer who walks past the front door.

The problem

Restaurants were paying for software that did not love them back.

A website vendor. A separate online-ordering platform. A separate marketing tool. A separate reservations app. A POS that did not talk to any of them. And on top of that, a 30% cut to a marketplace for every "new" customer — most of whom were already local.

Five subscriptions, three logins, two tablets at the counter, and the owner doing the math at 11 pm to figure out whether the night was actually profitable.

What we wanted

One calm operating system. Built around the way a restaurant actually runs.

Not a builder. Not a marketplace. Not a feature factory. One product that handles ordering, the phone, the customer list, and the website — quietly, in the background, while the owner cooks.

We started with the part that hurts most — the 30% commission — and worked outward. Direct ordering on the restaurant's own site. Then the phone. Then loyalty. Then the bistro side: reservations, table ordering, customer history.

What we believe

The customer is yours. The margin is yours. The night should be calmer.

  • No restaurant should pay a per-order commission to reach a customer that lives three blocks away.
  • The customer list is the most valuable thing the restaurant owns. It should sit in the restaurant's dashboard, not on someone else's server.
  • Software for restaurants should feel like an apron — useful, in the way only when it has to be, and put down at the end of the night.
  • One bill. One dashboard. One support number that picks up.
Where we are now

Restaurants on Calode today.

Calode runs the front-of-house for restaurants of every shape — single-shop pizzerias, neighbourhood cafes, multi-location bistro groups. The product looks the same on the host stand of a small cafe as it does for a larger group, because the same things matter at every size.

We are not finished. The product is still moving. But the direction is fixed: more sales, less work, no commission, and the restaurant owner sleeping a little better.

If that sounds like the restaurant you are running — we should talk.

Twenty minutes. We will show you Calode in your own restaurant's shoes. No commitment.

Loved by restaurant owners.

Kinda crazy not handing over 30% every week.

We stopped using the delivery apps. Now we only take orders through our own site. Setup took a little work at the start, but now it runs smooth.

Now I just open my phone and see how the branch is doing.

Before Calode, I was running around like crazy taking orders from directors. Now I open my phone and see everything. Orders coming in from the site and the app.

Replaced a $1,000 website quote.

Developers quoted me $800–$1,200 for just a website. With Calode I got the website, online ordering, and more, all in one dashboard, for a small monthly fee.
