What is inside

A bistro runs on three things. Calode covers all three.

No separate reservations vendor, no separate ordering vendor, no separate marketing vendor. One bill, one dashboard.

Reservations, included

Tables, parties, areas, working hours — guest picks a slot, you confirm. Email confirmation at booking; SMS available if you bring a Twilio account. No per-cover fee.

Dine-in QR menu

Guests scan, order, pay. Servers focus on hospitality, not running the bill back twice.

Takeout and pickup

Same menu, sensible cutoffs, honest prep times. Pickup orders never collide with a full dining room.

What changes for a bistro

Less software. Calmer service.

Bookings, tables, and takeout in one place.
No separate reservations vendor, no separate ordering vendor.
Email confirmation at booking, every time.
Bring a Twilio account if you also want SMS reminders — Calode wires it up.
$0
Per-cover booking fee
No marketplace cut on takeout either.
1
System for the whole room
Floor plan, areas, working hours, the open reservations — one screen.
In the dashboard

One screen for the whole room.

See tables, parties, and reservations on a single page — without a separate per-cover reservations subscription.

  • Floor plan
Tables coloured by area and reservation status — at a glance who is seated and who is due.
  • Reservation statuses
Pending, Confirmed, Seated, Cancelled, No-show. The no-show tag stays on the guest record for next time.
  • Internal notes per booking
Anniversary, allergy, regulars — everyone with dashboard access sees the same note.
FAQ

Cafes and bistros, answered.

Does Calode replace OpenTable or Resy for taking reservations?
For most independent bistros, yes. Calode includes the reservations layer — table management, automated SMS confirmations and reminders, party-size and deposit rules, server notes — without a per-cover fee. Larger restaurants who use OpenTable specifically for marketplace discovery may keep it on alongside; for the rest, Calode reservations is the system of record.
Can we keep our current reservations app running during the switch?
Yes. Most owners run Calode and their existing tool side by side for a few weeks — new bookings on Calode, existing bookings on the old tool until they roll off. We help with the cut-over so no bookings get lost in the gap.
How are large parties and private events handled?
Large parties go through the same booking flow with the party size and area set on the reservation. Internal notes per booking let the team coordinate (prep, allergens, special requests). Deposits-on-booking aren't a built-in feature today — many bistros call to confirm large parties and take a deposit manually for prix fixe nights.
Do guests get a confirmation when they book?
An email confirmation goes out at the moment of booking. SMS reminders aren't automatic out of the box; if you bring a Twilio account, we wire it up so order-status messages and reservation reminders go through your number — Twilio bills you for the messages at carrier rate.
Can the takeout menu be different from the dine-in menu?
Yes. Many bistros run a slimmer takeout menu — dishes that travel poorly stay dine-in only, and a couple of takeout-only items (family-pack lasagna, pantry boxes) sit on the takeout menu and nowhere else. You set the rules per item; the QR menu, the website, and pickup orders all read from the same source.
How does Calode handle no-shows and walk-ins?
A no-show automatically tags the guest record so the host stand sees it on the next booking — useful for repeat offenders, useful for not penalising someone who had one bad night. Walk-ins are seated from the same floor plan and merged into the same nightly view, so the cover count and server load are accurate without anyone keeping a paper tally.

Kinda crazy not handing over 30% every week.

We stopped using the delivery apps. Now we only take orders through our own site. Setup took a little work at the start, but now it runs smooth.

Now I just open my phone and see how the branch is doing.

Before Calode, I was running around like crazy taking orders from directors. Now I open my phone and see everything. Orders coming in from the site and the app.

Replaced a $1,000 website quote.

Developers quoted me $800–$1,200 for just a website. With Calode I got the website, online ordering, and more, all in one dashboard, for a small monthly fee.
